Abstract
Introduction: Overweight, the prevalence of which is increasing in societies, is one of the problems that threatens the health of society. The present study was conducted with the aim of the role of attitude towards nutrition, concern about body image, difficulty in emotional regulation and rumination in predicting eating behavior in overweight married women of Isfahan in the summer of 1401.
Material and Methods: The research method was descriptive and correlational. The statistical population included all overweight married women (body mass above 25) who visited nutrition clinics in Isfahan city in the summer of 1401, from which 200 women were selected as available. The research tools included nutrition attitude questionnaire, body image fear questionnaire, difficulty in regulating emotions questionnaire, rumination questionnaire and eating behavior questionnaire. The data were analyzed using correlation methods and multiple regression analysis step-by-step.
Results: The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between eating behavior and attitude towards nutrition, concern about body image, difficulty in regulation and rumination (p<0.01), but in the first step concern about body image (β= 0.466, p < 0.001) and in the second step, rumination can predict eating behavior in overweight married women (β = 0.295, p < 0.001).
Conclusion: Therefore, to control eating behavior, it is suggested to pay attention to body image concern and rumination in the development of educational packages.
