[English]

Introduction: Health-oriented academic lifestyle is an emerging model in academic health psychology, among which health-enhancing behaviors are one of the main determining criteria for health, and on the contrary, inhibiting behaviors endanger academic health. Therefore, the current research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the educational package based on academically unproductive behaviors on the promoting and inhibiting behaviors of academic health in students.
Materials and Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test, post-test, control group, and three-month follow-up. The statistical population included all the students of the Islamic Azad University, Sanandaj branch, in the academic year of 2021-2022, 30 of whom were randomly selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria as a research sample and randomly divided into two experimental and control groups (each with 15 people). The measurement tool was the questionnaire on academic lifestyle behaviors made by Salehzadeh et al. (2016). The experimental group received 10 sessions (2 per week) of 75 minutes, and the control group did not receive any intervention. Statistical data were analyzed using mixed variance analysis.
Results: The data analysis showed that after the intervention, the effect of the educational package based on academically unproductive behaviors on the promoting (f=2557.55, η2=0.999, p<0.001) and inhibiting behaviors of academic health (f=1347.42, η2=0.998, p<0.001) was significant in students (p<0.001); these positive effects remained stable during the follow-up period.
Conclusions: Based on the research results, the educational package based on academically unproductive behaviors is a suitable intervention method to increase the promoting behaviors and reduce the inhibiting behaviors of academic health in students.
